Travelling across the Atlantic for a bird hunt might seem like a crazy idea, particularly for a novice hunter like myself but Mike and Dave made it absolutely worth it. Communications were great throughout and they were quick to answer any questions I had. The camp is nearly 10 miles off the pavement in a fantastically remote part of Maine and I was absolutely blown away by the views on the way up. On arrival I was immediately made to feel at home and at ease. The camp is super comfortable and after a fantastic dinner I was ready for two days hunting. Mike and Dave were joined by Scott when I was in camp and I was treated to a wealth of knowledge about the birds, the local area and outdoors life in Maine in general. I've learned so much more than would be remotely possible trying and doing it myself and have about 10 more ideas for trips to Maine. The team are truly passionate about guiding and their dogs and it came through every day I was with them. It was an absolute joy walking through breath taking scenery, watching the dogs work and getting into birds. I limited out on the first day but frankly wouldn't have cared if I'd come back with an empty bag and a few spent shells. As it was I got to make some incredible memories with my old boxlock and then got shown by Dave how to butcher the birds for a delicious lunch and how to keep and preserve some tail fans. It was a sad evening what I had to leave camp but I know I'll be back. Kind Regards Jakob

We don't usually guide for bears, but Mike has guided in the past for lodges and couldn't pass up the opportunity to get his son Noah on one of the many number of bears around camp. Congratulations to Noah on his first Maine black bear! 165 lb female with a beautiful coat. We watched this bear come in to our bait for over a week before we got a daytime shot at it. Her teeth were in very poor condition, and I don't know if she would have made it through the winter. Now we'll butcher the meat and pack it in the freezer!
